The new fangled template is a three column template that is very pleasing on the eye. if you take a look at the colors used it gives the blog a very relaxing cozy feel.
The links on the top of the blog can be easily customized from your add a page element menu, thanks to Erica. Take a look at the curves on the sidebars the left sidebar curves on the left in the title area and the right on the right. If you notice the google advertisment doesnt have a title and does not curve.
This template does give a very casual feel to a blog, it would make a good nature, adventure or holiday type of blog.
